Anne Ragains
President & CEO
With a diverse background in commercial real estate, banking, and other customer-service industries, Anne Ragains is a driven individual who brings solid business experience and a history of success to Aliance. Anne received both her Bachelor's and Master's degree in education from Indiana University and started out her professional career as a teacher.
In 1980 Anne began Ragains Realty. What started out as a side venture eventually grew to be a lucrative full time job. From 1980 to 1990, Ragains Realty was not only successful at selling real estate but also purchasing and developing acreage. In 1990, Anne turned her focus to purchasing and revitalizing the company, Telemessaging Inc. This company started out with one location in New Albany, IN and under Anne's management the company expanded to include operations in Indianapolis, IN and Elizabethtown, KY. Anne still owns this successful and vibrant company.
In 1997, Anne once again zeroed in on another business venture. This time she was focused on bringing first run movies and the genuine movie theatre experience to smaller market areas. Drawing on all her previous knowledge and success, Anne financed her new venture with the revenue generated from Telemessaging Inc. and real estate. Great Escape Theatres and Aliance Entertainment were an immediate success - capitalizing on servicing small to medium sized markets.
"The biggest asset that I bring to Aliance is perseverance and enthusiasm," said Ragains. "We have been successful in markets that many people said were lost causes. We research every venture very thoroughly and expect success. No matter what the industry, it is a personal goal of mine to build a company that we're all proud to work for and to enjoy doing it. I also enjoy giving something back to the communities we locate in - whether it is something simple like the summer kids show program or helping to revitalize local economies. We are a rapidly growing company - I have a goal of doubling our screen count in the next 18 months. All of these things combined point to a bright future where Aliance will become a leading player in the movie exhibition industry."
Anne's favorite movie is Braveheart.
